On May 10 and 11, the charity organization ADRA Ukraine provided humanitarian assistance to people who arrived in Kharkiv as forced migrants due to the intensification of hostilities in the Kharkiv region. In two days, 225 food kits from the UN World Food Programme with the support of ADRA Switzerland were received by people staying at the shelter – the first aid station, where the Kharkiv Humanitarian Coordination Center registered internally displaced persons for distribution to other hostels in the city.

In connection with the active hostilities in the border settlements in the north of the Kharkiv region, the authorities had to urgently evacuate the residents of Dergachyvska, Vovchanska, Lyptsivska, and Starosaltivska communities. During these days, ADRA Ukraine volunteers were on duty near the Kharkiv shelter all the time, while buses with evacuees arrived. The number of evacuees on May 10 and 11 amounted to more than 4.5 hundred citizens. People continue to leave the dangerous area.
