A charity concert dedicated to Mother’s Day, organised by ADRA Ukraine (Adventist Relief and Development Agency in Ukraine), took place in Kyiv on 11 May. The audience of more than 400 people gathered at the Left Bank Church in Kyiv and featured special guests, including Honoured Artist of Ukraine, TV presenter and singer Anzhelika Rudnytska and People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoliy Matviychuk, as well as other soloists and a brass band. The event raised UAH 51,739 to support the Harmony shelter in the Dnipro region, which is home to about 80 IDPs, mostly retired people who lost their homes due to shelling or fled the occupation. Donations from caring people continue to come in.

The concert featured songs dedicated to motherhood, the image of a mother in Ukrainian culture, and spiritual songs. In addition to special guests, they were performed by soloists Nikita Isakov, Lesya Lupulyshena, Vitaly Pryimuk and others. The highlight of the evening was the performance of the Kyiv Brass Band of the Seventh-day Adventist Church under the direction of Volodymyr Chipchar.

Anzhelika Rudnytska spoke about her volunteer experience. According to her, there is nothing stronger than love. “We need to love each other more and love our country more. God is love. Who can defeat God?” she said, urging everyone to do everything to make Ukraine strong and happy. People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatoliy Matviychuk wished the audience to be a source of kind words and deeds for their surroundings, and for this, he stressed, they should draw inspiration and strength from the Creator.

During the event, Leonid Rutkovsky, head of ADRA Ukraine, spoke about the charity’s activities, and Pastor Volodymyr Borovyi prayed for Ukrainian mothers. Visitors to the Left Bank Church heard from the concert’s hosts, Serhii Stepaniuk and Mariia Bokova, about the orphanage for which the fundraiser is being held and a report on the results of the previous charity event.

As a reminder, the previous charity concert in Kyiv, organised by ADRA Ukraine on 2 December 2023, raised a total of UAH 162,800. The special guests were People’s Artists of Ukraine Oksana Bilozir and Viktor Pavlik. The funds raised during and after the December concert were used to purchase firewood for residents of the Kherson region affected by the war.
